Mount Baker Area. This trail is one of the most popular hikes in the area, as it leads to open meadows and views of Mount Baker. We'll work on as much general maintenance, such as cleaning drain dips, clearing brush, and trail realignment due to slumping.

You think "100 Hikes" likes it? "A large, green meadow. An enormous white volcano - pound for pound, the iciest in the Cascades. Views of forests and glaciers, rivers, and mountains, sunsets and sunrises."

Driving directions:
From Bellingham take exit 255 off of I-5 and drive east on Highway 542 (the Mount Baker Highway) to the town of Glacier. One mile past the town of Glacier turn right on the Glacier Creek Road (Forest Service Road 39) and in a hundred yards turn sharply left on Deadhorse Road (FSR 37) for 13 miles to the parking lot and trailhead. It's a pretty long and bumpy road so give yourself plenty of time. If you're coming from Seattle, it is approximately a 3 and a half hour drive.
