National Trails Day! in Mount Baker area. Join us for a work party to address some annual maintenance (clearing and repairing)on the Excelsior Pass Trail. Come celebrate trails by giving back to them!

East of Bellingham near Mt. Baker. This trail follows the Ridley Creek drainage to Mazama Park, passing through groves of western hemlock and Alaska yellow cedar that are impressive in size. Mazama Park, at about 4 miles and 2,200 feet of elevation gain, provides great views of Mount Baker and the Sisters. The trail intersects with the Park Butte trail just beyond Mazama Park. We'll be working on getting this trail passable again after a lengthy hiatus from routine maintenance. The work could include clearing, logging out, fixing washed out tread and improving drainage.

Driving directions:
From Bellingham take exit 255 off of I-5 and drive east on Highway 542 (the Mount Baker Highway) to the town of Glacier.

From the Glacier Public Service Center, travel east on Mt. Baker Highway 542 for approximately 7 miles. The parking area and trailhead are located on the left hand side of the highway, right after the Nooksack Falls turnoff.
