Just 30 minutes outside of Spokane, hikers can find solace along a 7.5-mile loop which utilizes several trails that have great views of the lake and pass scenic destinations including a beautiful waterfall and large cedar grove. This loop trail is soon to be undergoing some major improvements with the help of WTA volunteers. The work will include heavy maintenance as well as trail realignments.
Liberty Lake Regional park is crisscrossed by miles of trail south of the lake in addition to its other fine recreation opportunities. The most popular hike is the Loop trail which utilizes the Liberty Creek trail, Bob Hughes trail and Edith Hansen trail to complete a 7.5 mile circuit. Highlights along the trail include a beautiful stream, old growth cedar grove, stunning overlooks of the lake, a beautiful waterfall and an old cabin. It is a very enjoyable day hike.
