Pratt Lake Trail

I-90 at exit 47. This is a forest hike climbing steeply the first mile to sub-alpine forest and views from the 4,100 foot saddle overlooking Pratt Lake, the lake itself is at about 5 3/4 miles. We'll work on the first section of trail and projects might including brushing, drainage and tread work.

Situated in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest this is a forest hike climbing steeply the first mile to sub-alpine forest and views from the 4,100 foot saddle overlooking Pratt Lake, the lake itself at about 5 3/4 miles. There are many side trails (including those to Ollalie Lake) offering solitude and small hidden lakes and ridge tops. After Pratt Mountain, the trail goes on past several other lakes to Mt. Defiance and Thompson Lake, both relatively unvisited.

Driving directions:
From Seattle drive east on I-90 to exit 47 (Asahel Curtis/Denny Creek). Take exit 47 and turn north over the freeway and then turn left at the T intersection to the nearby Pratt Lake parking area approximately .2 miles from the turnoff. (Driving time from Seattle: approximately 1 hour.)
