Southeast Olympic Peninsula. We'll begin to revisit maintenance and any necessary trail reconstruction on the lower portion of this trail. Note that we'll meet at the Fish Hatchery and then carpool to the trailhead. Our battle to rebuild and harden this important Olympic Peninsula trail continues!

This trail meanders through ancient forest and parallels the South Fork of the Skokomish River. Points of interest include the old LeBar Claim, Church Creek Shelter and Harps Shelter. Olympic Elk (Roosevelt) can be observed throughout the river basin provided one is quiet and does not approach too closely.

Driving directions:
Take US Highway 101 north from Shelton or south from Hoodsport to the Skokomish Valley Road. This road is 6 miles north of Shelton and 7 miles south of Hoodsport. Turn west onto the Skokomish Valley Road. We will meet at State Fish Hatchery located on the corner of Highway 101 and the Skokomish Valley Road at 8:30 am.
