Denny Creek Trail

Puget Sound Area. I-90 at exit 47. This trail is one of the most spectacular in the Snoqualmie Pass area, with several waterfalls on Denny Creek, most notably Keekwulee Falls, providing the highlights. We'll spend the weekend working on annual maintenance tasks (brushing, drainage and treadwork) along this trail.

In the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, a hiker and leashed dog trail only. A total of 8.0 miles round-trip. This trail, bearing the ubiquitous Denny name, is one of the most spectacular in the Snoqualmie Pass area, with several waterfalls on Denny Creek, most notably Keekwulee Falls, providing the highlights. The trail turns up under I-90 and climbs gently, reaching Keekwulee Falls and Snowshoe Falls at 1.5 and 2 miles respectively. Hemlock Pass (elev. 4,800 ft.), at four miles, is a fine spot to rest. From here, it's only about a half-mile to Melakwa Lake (elevation gain 2,200 feet) and a three-mile walk to the west to the Pratt Lake Trail.

Driving directions:
From Seattle drive east on I-90 to exit 47 (Asahel Curtis/Denny Creek). Turn left over the overpass and proceed to a T intersection. Turn right and travel 0.25 miles to Denny Creek Road (FSR 58). Turn left and drive 2.5 miles, turning left off the paved road after passing the Denny Creek Campground. The trailhead is at the road's end, about .25 miles after leaving the paved road. Be careful not to block driveways. (Driving time from Seattle: approximately 1 hour.)
