Duckabush River by sparticus

The Duckabush Trail sustained major damage when it was ravaged by fire last year, and it won't be hikable again without your help. Come help us clear away logs and debris so we can open this trail up to hikers. Olympic Peninsula - Hood Canal.

The trail starts on an old logging road and climbs to Little Hump, leaving the road and entering The Brothers Wilderness at about 1 mile. After descending Little Hump it follows the river for about 1.5 miles and then climbs Big Hump. The switchbacks through Big Hump are spectacular. Beyond Big Hump old growth dominates the forest.

Driving directions:
Leave Highway 101 .2 miles north of the Duckabush River bridge on the Duckabush River Road which at 3.7 miles turns into Forest Road 2510. At 6 miles from 101 turn right onto Forest Road 2510 (060) and find the trailhead in .1 mile. The turn from Highway 101 is about 22 miles north of Hoodsport and 16 miles south of Quilcene. (About 2 hours from Seattle via the Edmonds ferry)
