National Trails Day! Spokane County - Liberty Lake Regional Park. This park has many recreational opportunities and is a popular destination for Spokane area folks. In the past few months we've worked on the Liberty Lake Loop trail, retreading some of the switchbacks; we'll continue this work and do some brushing too. Come celebrate trails by giving them your hard work.

Liberty Lake Regional park is crisscrossed by miles of trail south of the lake in addition to its other fine recreation opportunities. The most popular hike is the Loop trail which utilizes the Liberty Creek trail, Bob Hughes trail and Edith Hansen trail to complete a 7.5 mile circuit. Highlights along the trail include a beautiful stream, old growth cedar grove, stunning overlooks of the lake, a beautiful waterfall and an old cabin. It is a very enjoyable day hike.

Driving directions:
From I-90 take the Liberty Lake exit (exit 296). Go south on Liberty Lake Road 1.25 miles past Albertsons, BP and golf course. Turn left (east) on Sprague (signed to Park) 1 mile past golf course. Sprague turns right (south) to become Neyland. Continue south .75 mile on Neyland to merge with Lakeside. Right on Lakeside (south) for 1 mile. Watch for park entrance sign on right side of road just before the water tower. Go down park entrance road to gate. Park in Hiker Parking area (outside fence to your right). Driving time about 30 minutes from Spokane.
